Plastik Finance is a special platform designed to deal with waste and its management. The world is filled with waste, almost twice the speed and also the amount of the population. Although we have recycling technology, only 9% of them are functional. Yes, we are only able to recycle the waste in 9% of capacity while the 91% of being dumped. This platform wants to change it through social empowerment that uses blockchain technology.

How the Platform Works

Plastik Finance is working in two ways: empowering the waste communities (such as scavengers, waste pickers, etc) and providing rewards to those taking part in the network. Waste pickers will be rewarded for their contribution, where they have the options to get money in token or in fiat (real) money. If they prefer the crypto token, they can actually take part in the platform. They can use this platform to get financial access, and this is rare because waste communities are usually the unbanked parties. Well, with this platform, these unbanked people can finally enjoy financial access.

The Roles of Each Involved Part

Waste pickers collect the waste and then sell it to the Cooperative. From Cooperative, they sell it to MRF (Material Recovery Facility). MRF would sort and process the waste so they produce saleable waste forms before they can sell it (recycled waste) buyers. MRF and Cooperative form symbiotic relationship. MRF needs non-stop supplies, while the Cooperative requires (better) trading terms. That’s why Cooperative’s ownership in MRF displays the bond between the two.

However, the relationship can’t be maintained if there is no MRF from the first place. Huge capital investment is needed to create MRF, and this is done through PLAS, the security token from Plastik Finance. So, users in Plastik Finance can buy the security token (as a form of investment). In return, MRF should share its annual profits (around 60% of it) with Plastik Finance, and then the platform would distribute those profits to PLAS holders, by calling it dividends.

In the end, everyone is happy. Plastik Finance is happy to create a profitable platform where green conscious people can get together. Users of the platform are happy because they can invest while doing something for Mother Earth. The waste communities can get the fair reward, which is much better than the traditional system. And the world is happy because less waste is produced, which means that they are less affected and the Earth has become a cleaner place.
